정은선 aka Ennis like tennis was last seen meditating by the waters of Palos Verdes Estates composing themes in abundance & presence

Ennis is a Korean-Canadian process artist rooted in omni-channel storytelling and self-mythology. Her practice moves fluidly across mediums. Digital architecture, painting, 35mm film, alternative performance, and beyond. Anchored by a commitment to high-concept pop with sharp injections of humor. Often designing obscure identities that unfold over extensive durations, culminating in ritualistic acts of release.
Her debut project was a photo-ethnography of American Hip-Hop and Black Culture. Beneath its documentarian surface lies a parallel narrative: a young woman coming of age, clawing through corporate America. She marries a man with a curse, discovers self-love, and an appetite for embracing discomfort.
Realest ushered in her personal Manifesto 1.0, a broader creative era marked by alter-egos including 🎾ㅃ (TENNISBALLBB) THE #FOODPORNSTAR and Professional Muse for Geniuses. She shifts from behind the camera to method acting, embodying roles for years at a time.
Trained as a Suzuki violinist, Ennis' earliest influence was classical music. By age 16 was art directing a lifestyle magazine. Two years later, she held her first solo photo exhibition featuring an intimate study of women. The event was co-produced and sponsored by Agent Provocateur.
Ennis graduated magna cum laude from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2015 with a B.F.A. in graphic design. She worked for innovation and marketing agencies in New York, which highly informed strategies for her creative world-building in fine art. Client projects during this time included product development for Pepsi, redesigning all Johnson & Johnson baby products, BareMinerals campaigns and branding Rumble Boxing.
Checking in at the end of 2023, Ennis was ruminating on changing her full legal name as part of an ongoing inquiry into personal identity. Her latest body of work is a collection love stories titled G*E*M*S.

The common refrain, “It’s the journey, not the destination,” could make a perfect catchphrase for Process Art. A movement that arose in the 1960s and '70s and has since expanded in definition to describe a general philosophical approach to making art, Process Art places its emphasis on the process and act of artistic creation rather than the actual finished work that comes out of it.
